Music Classes
The Creative Arts & Music Center currently has five talented
and experienced music teachers offering half-hour private
music lessons for children, teens and adults.
Tuition for all programs: $120 a month.

Ages

Jim has been teaching for 20 years and has developed
a curriculum for students of all ages and abilities,
emphasizing a fun and creative approach to learning
music. Styles include Blues, Rock, Jazz, Country and
Flatpicking/Bluegrass. Play-along CDs are available
for students as they advance.

Jen is a graduate from USC and has 15 years of experience
teaching music to a variety of age groups. Before re-locating
to Roseville, she taught music education at seven private
schools in West Los Angeles (pre-K, elementary and middle
school). Styles include Asian, African, Classical, European,
Jazz, Latin and Rock.

Kristen has a master's degree in music from Sacramento
State University, a bachelor's degree from Chapman University
in Orange County, and has been teaching since 2006.
She will work with students 8 and older, and uses a
technique that is organic but still in line with the
Bell Canto Style. Specialties include Classical, Contemporary
Christian and Musical Theater.

Rich is a local studio musician for DB Audio group
in Loomis and has recorded on several projects in the
Bay Area. He has over 15 years of teaching experience,
and has developed an approach that is encouraging and
fun for students of all ages.

Adamen has been teaching for 10 years and focuses on
developing skills that help students become versatile
musicians and performers. Saxophonists will develop
embouchure, fingering and breathing techniques; drummers
will learn sticking, pedaling, polyrhythms and reading.
Styles include Funk, Blues, Jazz, Rock, Classical, Shuffle,
Swing and Bossa.

Astrid has Music Teaching and Performance degrees from
the University of Vienna, Austria, as well as a Psychology
degree from SFSU. She performed as a bassoonist in numerous
orchestras in Vienna, and was a member of several chamber
music ensembles. Astrid has 9 years of teaching experience
with students ages 5 to adult, and has spent 18 years
working with children on a professional level.
